NH-AGO Announces

Three Grants

for Pipe Organ Encounter attendee’s.

The Pipe Organ Encounter (POE) is one of the most successful outreach programs to young people that the AGO has promoted. This year the closest one to the North-East Region is being held in Philadelphia PA from July 8 – 13.

The NH-AGO has always been a staunch supporter of the POE and encouraging local talent to attend.   NH-AGO hosted a POE in 2009, led by Liz Black, Bruce Adami, Kathy Metevier, Colin Lynch, and so many other volunteers.

NH-AGO support for the Pipe Organ Encounter (POE) Students this year will be in the form of Three (3): $250.00 Grants given to the student via their family to offset costs in attending the POE.  These costs can be the travel expenses, or performance related materials such as Organ shoes, music, etc.

{The National Office of the AGO has many endowments and trust-funds set aside for financial aid awards made to attending students.  Between now, and May 1, financial aid packages will be calculated and awarded to those students who have been accepted to the POE from the National application process.}

The deadline for applying for these grants is June 1, 2018.  The forms can be filled out and mailed to the postal address listed, or scanned into an email and sent to the Address listed.

* Teachers, share this email to the families of your students please.

** The grants will be awarded on a “First Come, First Served basis”.

Used Organ Music Library

The NH American Guild of Organists chapter has been given much used organ music over the years from estates, or retiring organists.  All funds from the sale of this used organ music are deposited into our Scholarship Fund.  We are able to offer grants to Pipe Organ Encounter (POE) attendee’s from this fund as well as support other educational initiatives as they come up.

The NH AGO, Used Organ Music Library, is now stored at St. Joseph’s Cathedral in Manchester NH.   Eric Bermani, the Director of Music at the Cathedral, can be contacted through the Cathedral office email  to arrange a visit during Cathedral office hours.

All titles are available for a suggested donation of $1.50 (or more….) and proceeds benefit the NH AGO – Scholarship Fund.  The Used Organ Music Library is available as a PDF Download (see below).
