The Director of Church Music (DCM) will serve as organist and director of the adult choir and is expected to enhance the youth and adult music offerings, increase the diversity of musical expression, and reach out to the larger community. FRSUU, a 437 member church in the heart of Newburyport (MA), views music as an essential aspect of our spiritual life. As a highly visible performance space in this historic town, our music program is an important outreach to the community. Our Lady of the Holy Rosary in Rochester, NH is currently accepting resumes for the position of Choir Director at our parish. We are looking for someone who possesses the skills and means to direct our Traditional music program, to direct the parish choir, and who is open to serving the parish community.
The requirements are as follows: Plays the organ or keyboard; can familiarize themselves with Catholic liturgical rites and practices; is open to working with a dedicated group of volunteer choir members and cantors; who can work with music ministers and ministries of the parish; can organize and plan weekly music for the parish; and can schedule cantors and musicians for the weekend and holy day liturgies.
The director ordinarily leads the music and choir at the Saturday 4:00 p.m. Mass and Sunday7:30 a.m. Mass, serves at weddings and funerals, and fills in when other music ministers are unavailable at the weekend liturgies. As a Catholic community of prayer and worship, we value the importance of music in our liturgical celebrations and are committed to investing in our music program.

Immaculate Conception Parish is accepting resumes for a Director of Music part-time position. The candidate for this position needs to be committed to the Catholic Church and have a working knowledge of the liturgical rites and practices. Basic responsibilities include providing music for Sunday worship and special holidays, directing regular adult vocal and bell choirs, and planning services with the Pastor.
Our organ is custom built with pipes and console in the balcony. It has 11 ranks, which, with unification and duplexing, expands to 31 stops. The piano is a Yamaha baby grand in excellent condition. Our 4-octave English hand bell set has been recently refurbished.
The church has 150+ members. Part-time hours are 18 to 22 per week. A competitive salary in the high 20’s will be offered to the ideal candidate, commensurate with skill, experience, and education.
